The Axie Team recently announced on Discord they will be discussing new updates on Axie Land. Many have been patiently waiting for what’s new with Land, especially with the recent launch of Axie Infinity Origins.

Axie Infinity is a blockchain-enabled NFT game that was released back in 2018 with a play-to-earn model allowing players to earn money as they play the game. Players are able to control NFTs called Axies where they can battle other players for rewards that include SLP and AXS which are the in-game tokens. The game reached peak popularity last year as it was introduced as an alternative source of income due to the lockdowns brought about by the pandemic.
The game has now launched Axie Infinity Origins just last week and it has seen enormous positive feedback. With things settling down, the team is now ready to talk about the other aspects of the game including Axie Land.
Axie Infinity Land also known as Lunacia has already been in existence for quite some time now and in fact, you can go to the marketplace and buy land if you should choose to do so. However, there hasn’t been much in the way of gameplay as they are only really gearing up for a launch this year.
A land you can claim, a land you can tame
Axie Infinity Land or Lunacia allows players to purchase land called Terra which are 301×301 grid plots of land where Axies can roam freely, battle Chimeras, and farm resources for rewards that can be exchanged for real-world currency. According to the Axie team, 25% of Axie Land has been sold to players already with 75% becoming available upon the official launch happening sometime this year, 2022.
The Land Development Presentation is the newest update on the launch of Lunacia so expectedly many players are looking forward to this. According to the update, Philip La, the current Game Product Lead, will be the one presenting those updates on a live stream on the Axie Infinity Twitch channel. The stream will be hosted by Zyori of ZyoriTV and will be asking many of the questions that fans and the community have been asking all this time.
