The Sandbox opens Season 2 Alpha testing to new cohort

Metaverse game promises better Play to Earn mechanics and new experiences.

Popular metaverse title The Sandbox is opening its doors for a limited time once again as it continues its alpha access run for curious and interested players.

As alpha testers, players who can get access will be able to enjoy and try out new and different experiences available in The Sandbox, generated not only by the development team but also by their partners.

With its successful first run back in November 2021, The Sandbox is ready to welcome more players to enjoy both previous and new experiences that are now available in their metaverse world.

With more than 35 new experiences and attractions, more than double than what was available in the first alpha season there seems to be a lot to go around for Sandbox. These experiences range from the ones generated by their big partners like Snoop Dogg’s NFT gallery, South China Morning Post’s recreation of Hong Kong’s Star Ferry Pier, and Celsius Online’s new multiplayer experience.

Other creations by partner developers by way of the Game Maker Fund are also available from adventure games, hack and slash, and even multiplayer challenges.

New social features are also available like Rooftop à la Mode, a music club featuring DF Blond:ish, Sandbox’s new character, and as well as fashion and customization items like the Doggy avatar inspired by Snoop Dogg.

Getting an alpha access can be done in 3 ways either via direct purchase, participating in a raffle or by joining a social contest. Those who have funds at the ready can purchase an Alpha Pass via Sandbox’s OpenSea storefront although a listing is yet to be announced. Users with a Sandbox account can also join a special raffle for a chance to win an alpha pass and unlock not just the season 2 but also the season 1 experiences.

As for the social contest, details will be announced on the Sandbox website but as per the quick details from their Medium post, the contest will run from March 3 to March 23, 2022 and will involve the use of Twitter as the social platform.
