United Gamers DAO and blockchain hero shooter The Harvest forges a new partnership that brings more play-and-earn opportunities. This new weekly program will invite players to showcase their skill for a chance to win various prizes.
Part of the recent partnership announcement, the program, The Harvest THursdays, is a weekly competitive showcase by United Gamers DAO. The event will mainly be on Discord and as the name suggests, will take place every Thursday of the week. As it is just starting, The Harvest THursdays will invite 4 teams but with the option to expand and invite more teams in the future. The event will be on The Harvest’s official Discord channel with UGD mods officiating the mini-tournament. The tournament is also on a first-come, first-serve basis and will have a USD 100 prize pool
The Harvest is currently on limited-access but players can start requesting for theirs via the game’s Steam page. The game will be free-to-play on launch and will incorporate web3 and blockchain elements. The Harvest THursdays also aims to continue building on the game’s competitive scene, following a major tournament back in June where team UGD bagged second place.
What is The Harvest?
The Harvest is a third-person shooting game that leverages non-fungible tokens (NFTs). NFTs will give its players ownership of certain game items and assets. Each player arrives at the planet in a Spaceship, and each team randomly starts at one of the four different bases located at every corner of the map. Heroes must rush out as soon as possible to start harvesting Essence to reach their goal. For that, there will be different types of game mechanics that players can use during the game:
- The game’s primary goal is to harvest the most essence before the time runs out.
- Players can upgrade their attributes and abilities by using Cards (NFTs) that will be attached to the heroes.
- If your ally dies, you can respawn them to help them get back on the battlefield as early as possible Opposing teams can steal somebody’s essence by stepping on their base.
- The team with more essence harvested after 10 minutes wins the game.
The Harvest plans to have their closed-beta this quarter 3 of 2022, with the open beta on early 2023. Players who want to join The Harvest THursdays can now register and check the schedule via theharvest.gg/playTheHarvest
